Job Description:
Benefit and Pension Administration:
- The candidate will be in charge of organizing benefit orientation courses and giving management and employees advice and information on benefits.
- In addition to monitoring and updating employee benefit information in third-party systems, the candidate will be in charge of confirming benefit eligibility dates.
- Benefit cards, overage dependent forms, benefit registration and change forms, and answering wellness and benefits email accounts will all fall under the candidate’s purview.
- Updating employee pension records with the Municipal Pension Plan, including enrollments, terminations, LTD start and stop forms, purchase of service, and related changes, will be the candidate’s responsibility.
Human Resource Information System:
- The candidate will be in charge of creating and disseminating a variety of employment reports.
- Tracking probationary periods, trials, competencies, and corporate training activities will be the candidate’s responsibility.
- Updating new hire information, address modifications, T4 emails, emergency contact information, and other employee data will be the candidate’s responsibility.
- Biweekly benefit billing and deduction files for third-party submission and payment will be processed by the candidate.
Disability Management:
- The candidate would be in charge of managing and documenting disability deposits that are sent to Finance.
- Reports on earnings and wage loss will be prepared by the candidate.
- The candidate will be in charge of creating the reconciliation reports needed to close claims.
- Completing and uploading the necessary paperwork to the WorkSafe site will be the candidate’s responsibility.
Office Administration:
- The candidate will be in charge of supporting the Compensation & Benefits team and Human Resources management personnel administratively.
- Coordinating and communicating on a variety of HR projects, procedures, and programs will be the candidate’s responsibility.
- Maintaining general and medical files, union performance reviews, photocopying, and other related chores will fall under the purview of the candidate’s filing and document management responsibilities.
- During staff breaks, the candidate will be in charge of helping the front desk and offering reception services.
