Job Description:

  • The candidate will ensure that all papers assigned to the Court System are created and processed in accordance with departmental and statutory requirements in an exact, correct, and consistent manner.
  • The candidate will be in charge of making sure that all papers intended for the Court System are correctly, consistently, and appropriately written and processed in compliance with departmental and legislative requirements.
  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about Crown Counsel practices, departmental procedures, court systems, and associated policies, procedures, and directives.
  • When handling sensitive legal and court-related material, the candidate will uphold a high standard of confidentiality.
  • The applicant will have a keen eye for detail in all facets of case processing and documentation.
  • The candidate will be in charge of compiling and/or processing paperwork pertaining to the filing and resolution of police officers’ Criminal Code charges.

Requirements for Court Liaison Officer Jobs in Canada:

  • In addition to completing a full-year post-secondary program in a relevant field, the candidate must have completed Grade 12 or its equivalent.
  • The candidate must be proficient in the investigation, maintenance, and auditing aspects of police systems, such as CPIC, PRIME-RMS, Court, JUSTIN, CJIM, CORNET, and the National Fingerprint Booking Systems, for at least one year.
  • A prerequisite is that the candidate must have completed and/or possess an approved CPIC Training Program.
  • The MS Office Suite, which includes word processing, spreadsheets, email systems, and database programs, must be mastered by the applicant.
  • A current Class 5 BC driver’s license is required of the applicant.
