  • Radio over Internet Protocol (ROIP) devices, software-driven Radio Dispatch Consoles, and auxiliary equipment will be configured, installed, troubleshot, and adjusted by the candidate. Under the direction of the regional/location Radio Tech, the candidate will assist and coordinate network and internet service repairs with telecommunication service providers, verify system operation following repairs, respond during emergency management activities, deploy equipment, finish repairs, and notify management of outages or issue updates.
  • The candidate will be in charge of planning, constructing, installing, and integrating with auxiliary electronic equipment in order to fabricate, alter, and adapt radio equipment. The candidate will execute precision soldering, change and repair printed circuit boards, and finish equipment calibration and tuning to meet exact specifications.
  • To diagnose problems, fix repeater structures including antennae, solar panels, and cabling, and rig heavy equipment while working at heights and altitudes, the candidate will have to scale towers, masts, and poles at isolated mountain-top repeater sites.
  • The candidate will be in charge of identifying equipment malfunctions, offering suggestions, evaluating reports and specifications, troubleshooting problems, isolating faults, fixing or swapping out defective parts, and realigning equipment to manufacturer and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) specifications.
