Job Description:

• To support the annual Distribution O&M and Capital investment plans, the candidate will be in charge of creating and organizing work packages and related work orders, planning job requirements such as estimates and material requirements for budget preparation, assigning work to delivery partners in accordance with business rules and annual budgets, and scheduling work to meet program requirements.
• In order to help contract managers prepare contracts, the candidate will provide job requirements specifications that include scope, schedule, milestones, and reporting requirements. They will also offer technical advice to field inspectors and contract managers on how to verify completed work to ensure that BCH standards and work completion procedures are met. Finally, they will review work for quality and adherence to standards, including completed work packages, to help contract managers with non-conformance and invoice issues.
• The candidate will be in charge of closely collaborating with and supporting program managers, asset managers, contract managers, and operations support personnel in the continuous management of the work, advancing the work from start to finish and offering analytical support to identify work statuses, unit costs, progress, and problems with the work’s delivery, such as variance analysis.
• The candidate will be in charge of identifying data quality problems, suggesting corrective action plans to program management, carrying out and expediting assigned corrective action plans, and monitoring data quality to support efficient work processing and accurate accounting of changes to BCH assets across enterprise and stand-alone software applications.
• The candidate will be in charge of assisting managers with the creation of yearly work plans, delivery plans, and material forecasting by supplying data on the quantity and average cost of units.
• By establishing and preserving connections with delivery partners and offering knowledge of the standards and systems used to process work, the candidate will be in charge of recognizing and addressing problems pertaining to the processing of work.
• The candidate will be in charge of offering formal and informal “how-to” assistance to delivery partners that manage their work using stand-alone and enterprise software.
• Under the direction of program management, the candidate must continue to communicate with stakeholders about capital asset replacement and distribution maintenance programs by responding to ad hoc requests.
• Minor tasks relating to the aforementioned tasks that have no bearing on the job’s rating will be the candidate’s responsibility.

Requirements for Distribution Maintenance Analyst Jobs in Canada:

• In addition to two (2) years of cumulative experience in distribution maintenance, program management, electrical distribution design, field line work execution, maintenance planning, program administration, purchasing, tendering, and work contract administration, the candidate must hold a certificate in a related technical field of study, such as Power Engineering – General Program or Electrical Foundation.
• If the candidate has completed the Internal BC Hydro Distribution Field Inspection (DFI) courses, they will be regarded as an asset.
• In addition to an Electric Utility Fundamentals course and three (3) years of experience in distribution maintenance, program management, electrical distribution design, field line work execution, maintenance planning, program administration, purchasing, tendering, and work contract administration with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in distribution maintenance, electrical distribution design, field line work execution, and maintenance planning—the candidate must hold a Certificate in Business Administration from an accredited institution or a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
• Within a year after being hired, the candidate must finish the Internal BC Hydro Distribution Field Inspection (DFI) modules.
• The applicant needs to have a current Class 5 driver’s license.
• The applicant will be seen favorably for the position if they possess Inspector Certification.
